OCTOBER IPSY: HALLOWEEN – BLACK MAGIC

OCTOBER IPSY: HALLOWEEN – BLACK MAGIC

This month’s Ipsy bag theme was Black Magic and the design was a collaboration with the artist Valfe. The bag itself is easily my favorite bag I’ve gotten this far! It’s so adorable and durable! I’ve spent a little time with the products I got this month, so there will be mini reviews of these five products. Okay, I’m going to cut to the chase – this is, by far, the best $10 that I spend every month. Let’s dive in…

October Ipsy Glam Bag 2016

The Balm Cosmetics – Cabana Boy Blush

This tiny blush sample packs a powerful punch. It has some purple undertones and a pretty sheen to it. It made me think of like a frosty-wintertime look. It is a little hard to get your brush into, but it applies beautifully. If you got this in your bag and were disappointed with your finger swatch — give it a second chance and put it on your face. I love The Balm samples with their tiny magnetic closures. The full-size blush is a lovely size and retails for $21.00. You can find it here: Cabana Boy  and can save 20% if you use the code IPSY20 at checkout.

Ciate London – Fierce Flicks Eyeliner

This eyeliner pen is seriously awesome. I swatched it on my hand and after awhile it started to flake off, but I haven’t had the chance to put it on my eyes yet. It’s rich and intensely black. The pen tip is so fine that it could create the perfect winged liner. I hope it stands up to the durability of a full day’s wear. This is a full sized sample, which is always exciting to receive in my bags. This eyeliner pen is $19.00, and is currently sold out on the Ciate London site, but with the code IPSTER you can save 30% off of everything sitewide.

Promise Organic – Nourishing Coconut Milk Face Lotion with Hibiscus

This moisturizer smells like vacation in a bottle. It’s so silky soft but doesn’t leave you feeling like an oil slick. Otherwise, there isn’t much more to say about this moisturizer. It is a drugstore brand and the full sized 6-ounce bottle is only $7.99. To me that’s a huge bonus. I love high-end samples, but a good drugstore one will win me over really quick. You can find it at CVS here: Promise Organic Moisturizer and can save 30% using the code Promise30 at checkout!

Trestique – Belize Bordeaux Matte Lip Crayon

I expected this to be a super vampy lip color, but it is actually a brighter berry shade as you can see in the swatch. I’m currently obsessed with lippies so I’m just going to add it to the collection! I really enjoy the Trestique brand. I now have a concealer, highlighter, and lippie from them. The full-size lip crayon comes with a matching lip balm and retails for $28.00. It’s a little pricey for me because there are so many awesome lip products on the market. You can check it out here Trestique Matte Lip Crayons along with the rest of the shades they have it in. If you’re interested you can save 30% off an order of $40.00 or more with the code IPSYFALLFUN30.

MeMeMe – Blush Brush

Normally I really enjoy getting a free makeup brush, but this one is just your average blush brush. I will say it is soft and I love the matte black handle, but it really doesn’t do anything special in my opinion. I feel like the bristles are too long for contouring, and not fluffy enough for a great blush brush. I’m super picky, but I will hang on to it and update this if I find some earth-shattering use. You can check our their brushes and makeup here MEMEME Cosmetics, but unfortunately, I don’t have a coupon code.

Ipsy has not let me down yet. I always seem to get great bags and great products. I do have repeats of brands, but it’s only brands that I positively review and the product is different each time.

Each month the total value of the bag is at least $55.00 and all I spent was $10.00. I also love getting to earn points just by reviewing the products they send me and spending them on additional products to review. How awesome is that? If you’re interested in earning points and free products or just want to check out Ipsy, I would love if you would use my referral link: Ipsy. All it does is help me earn points faster. If you don’t want to use my referral link that’s totally fine – but I don’t get any money or anything.
